ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FOR YOUR HAIR

HOW TO REAP THE BENEFITS OF ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FOR YOUR HAIRActivated Charcoal has been ruling the skincare world since quite some time now and we’re all aware of the many wonders it can do for your skin. But did you know that this ingredient provides some incredible benefits to your hair too? Scroll down to find out what they are…

Promotes hair growth
Adds volume
Promotes hair growth
Our scalp is skin too, which means that just like the skin on our face and body, the scalp absorbs dirt, oil and has excess sebum which can hamper your hair’s quality and affect its growth. Activated charcoal helps cleanse all these impurities, removes the sebum and deep cleanses the pores to let your hair breathe.
It unclogs the pores in your scalp thus detoxifying the follicles. This helps the hair grow better.
Adds volume
Who doesn’t love bouncy hair like they show in the TV commercials? Using activated charcoal can revive your dull, lifeless, thin hair and give it the bounce and volume it needs! As it deep cleanses your hair and removes all the impurities, your hair doesn’t feel weighed down. You will notice a healthy bounce to your hair immediately after the first time you use activated charcoal in your hair.
Gets rid of dandruff and itchiness
The process of turning charcoal into activated charcoal makes its particles extremely porous as it is oxidized by exposing it to carbon dioxide. This is why it’s capable of absorbing more and more. If you’re someone with an oily scalp and oily, flaky dandruff, the absorption properties of activated charcoal will help soak all the excess oil, hence getting rid of all the dandruff in your hair.
How can I use activated charcoal in my hair?
There are numerous ways of incorporating activated charcoal in your hair care routine. The easiest way is to use activated charcoal induced products! But, you can also use it as a hair scrub. Mix two tbsp. activated charcoal powder with some coconut oil and massage it on your scalp. Keep it on for about 20 minutes and wash it off.
You could also add some activated charcoal in your shampoo bottle and shake well. Make sure you’re using a mild shampoo.
Remember, that using activated charcoal can be quite a messy procedure. If you have bleached, light coloured hair, make sure you wash off all the charcoal off your hair at least twice to avoid the dark colour to show!
